Fairness Workshop: Energy Data Project

Zoom

Welcome! To join the event, please register below.
About Event

We need your input so that we can design something that’s useful to you.

Join us to workshop the data products and visualisations that will allow you to easily find and present evidence on behalf of low income consumers. Please register if you wish to stay informed about the project.

Energy Data Visualisation Project funded by ECA

The energy sector is swimming in data but we often can’t find what we need when policy debates emerge. We all have different capacity to find and analyse data because so many of us are time poor. The project aims to start solving these challenges with easy to access datasets and visualisations that do the analysis and present the results for you.

This workshop is one of four you can join.

Our theme is Fairness - Equity and low income energy users to be held on Thurs 10 Sep 1-2:30pm. The other three are:

  • Access - Housing and investment challenges for renters, strata & apartments (Wed 16 Sep 3-4:30pm)

  • Transition - Pathways to electrification and renewable homes (Tues 15 Sep 3-4:30pm)

  • Planning - Totally renewable, zero emissions communities and electricity networks (Thurs 17 Sep 3-4:30pm)

Come to any one of these events to help us identify your most immediate needs and longer term uses of energy data.

Who should join the Fairness Workshop?

The focus of our first workshop will be equity. Are you a consumer advocate working on any of the following?

  • Energy affordability

  • The unique challenges for low income consumers

  • Policy setting for energy hardship and consumer protections

  • Unequal access to the benefits of the shift to clean energy

  • Making the system fairer

Please also answer the registration questions about the data stories that would help you in your work or fill in this survey.

You can read more about the project here.

Please join us on Thursday 10th September to help us develop useful tools for everyone advocating for a fairer energy transition.

This project was funded by Energy Consumers Australia as part of its Grants Program to support consumer advocacy and research projects that benefit of household and small business consumers. CSIRO is contracted to Energy Together to develop NEAC data products in ways that align with the project outcomes. The views expressed do not necessarily reflect the views of Energy Consumers Australia or CSIRO.
